The Fairy Pools is one of the most popular sites to visit on the Isle of Skye. 

Located in Glen Brittle, this gently cascading brook creates enchanting pools with waterfalls around every corner. It is said that selkies (mythological beings based on seal folk, typical of scottish folklore) are attracted to these fairy pools and transform into their human form at night to bathe in the light of the full moon. 

This trail takes you to visit the fairy pools by following the gravel path along the Allt Coir' a' Mhadaidh. The trail is easy to follow, with the majority being a gravel path following the cascades. There are some stepping stones you have to jump across to get into the main sections of the route. You can also swim in the crystal-clear waters of the pools, but beware that they are ice cold. 

Parking fees are mandatory to access the Fairy Pools car park. 

Please also keep in mind that this is a very popular site, so it’s best to arrive early, especially in high season.
